Cape Town’s “secret season” is reckoned to be one of the tourism industry’s best kept secrets! It’s when you can go up Table Mountain on the cable car without queuing, when you can get into the best restaurants without booking weeks in advance, when tee of times are when you want to play, and when you can walk all over the Cape because the temperatures are just right, and when ……….well we could go on and on.

At Beaumont house and Beaumont villa, we’ve decided that this year our secret season should run from May until August with a little extra thrown into September for good measure.

Our guests keep telling us that beaumont house and beaumont villa are special…….so here’s our beaumont special for you to take advantage of!!

For the period 6 August 2009 to 30 September 2009, stay at beaumont house for 4 consecutive nights and only pay for 3. Similarly, stay at beaumont villa for 7 consecutive nights and only pay for 5. This represents an incredible saving, which we believe will be attractive to even the most credit crunched of people!

All the special services we provide to guests will remain the same – all you have to do is come and be pampered. Most of the top Cape Town restaurants have specials on at this time of year as well, so you get even more value for money! Even the airlines are trying their best to get you on a discounted flight to Cape Town – see www.emirates.com and www.ba.com

Concierge’s restaurant pick

In this issue we feature The Greenhouse (7 minutes drive from Beaumont house). Peter Templehof, executive chef to the Liz McGrath collection, has raised the standard even higher here over the last 12 months. The gardens are stunning and just right for that glass of fizz whilst perusing the menu. The wine list is one of the best in the Cape and their cocktail list is in the Guinness Book of Records for being the longest in the world!

Le Riche Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2003

Etienne Le Riche is a self effacing winemaker using grapes from his farm in the Jonkershoek valley, just outside Stellenbosch. His Cabernet Sauvignon is used by many throughout South Africa as a benchmark for the cultivar. The 2003 reserve, the best year for red wine over the last decade, is just outstanding. Its elegance, fruit and balance just oozes quality from the glass – a very classy wine indeed.

for stockists worldwide.
did you know...............

........ that The Times Online in the UK recently published the 10 cheapest countries to visit, based on a basket of holiday goods.

South Africa was the fourth cheapest behind Hungary, Czech Republic and Thailand! The basket includes a cup of coffee, bottle of Heineken, bottle/can of Coca-Cola, bottle of mineral water, factor 15 sunscreen, insect repellant, and a three course evening meal including a bottle of house wine in a local restaurant. South Africa was the fourth cheapest behind Hungary, Czech Republic and Thailand!
