Beaumont House has embraced the social networking age! “So what?” you might well ask. Well the items on the Beaumont House web site blog can either remind you about some of the good times you had whilst in Cape Town, or provide some ideas for you when planning your forthcoming visit.
Our pages on Facebook.com (search for Beaumont House) and our tweets on twitter.com (beaumonthouse) use the same material as on the blog. There are presently over 60 items on the blog, so if you have the time please take a look and let us know what you think. By all means point your friends and colleagues to it if they are considering a trip to Cape Town.
The newsletter is usually sent out at this time of year to coincide with the start of summer – November1. However Peter was over in the UK to be with his father who turned 99 on November 8th – he hopes you understand!
As ever we are on hand to advise guests about some of the hidden gems Cape Town has to offer – and we have extended our stay for 7 nights pay for 5 offer for the months of February, March and April 2011. We look forward to welcoming you back at Beaumont House!
Finally, we would like to wish all our previous guests and friends of Beaumont House a happy festive season and a successful 2011.
Concierge’s restaurant pick
If the animated buzz of dinner conversation is in any way related to the level of contentment experienced by diners,
A Tavola, the newly opened Italian eatery, 5 minutes from Beaumont House, has certainly succeeded in its culinary offering. Brightly lit with a relaxed ambience, the cuisine is authentically Italian – with the focus on “doing it the way it is done in Italy” – out of the garden and into the kitchen. For a relaxed meal without any fuss, this is a very pleasant change from fine dining!

Arumdale St. Andrew 2006
Arumdale wine farm is situated in Elgin, historically more famous for its fruit farms – in fact the owner still grows apples as well as now making wine. This wine, from the moment of the first whiff of the freshly opened bottle, shows the elegantly gentle nose, of a patiently ripened harvest. There is a notable freshness and “up-front”, ripe sense of the fruit, which rounds off beautifully. This is Arumdale’s “Rolls Royce”, finely designed and beautifully structured. Only in the coolness of Arumdale’s location, and in its particular terroir, is it possible to produce a wine of this smoothness, whilst showing such up-front fruit, and elegantly rich character. It has entertaining complexity, with a clean and mouth-watering finish. (Cab 60% Merlot 30% Shiraz 10%)
